The material released by exploding stars does not disappear. Instead, it becomes part of giant clouds of gas and dust that float through space.Over millions of years, gravity pulls this material together to form new stars, planets, and moons. Our Solar System, including the Earth, was created from one of these clouds about 4.6 billion years ago.This means that the Earth itself is made from the remains of stars that lived and died long before our Sun was born.
The same elements found in stars are also found in our bodies.

The calcium that makes our bones and teeth strong was produced through nuclear reactions in stars.
The carbon that forms every cell in our body was also made inside ancient stars.
